Having it as an attribute is how we deal with it as there is no other place for the ID to go on otherwise. Save Submitting... this would be really useful as each payment to a recurring gift has its unique ID which is essential to capture. Having it as an attribute is how we deal with it as there is no other place for the ID to go on otherwise.
